Pilgrims of Hope
In the Bible (Leviticus 25), every 50th year was a "Jubilee," a year of rest, forgiveness of debts, and freeing slaves. The Church adopted this tradition in 1300 AD. Every 25 years, the Pope opens the "Holy Door" in St. Peter's Basilica, symbolizing a special time of grace.
Confession, works of mercy and daily prayer were what the Jubilee asked for, and all three are free at your parish. Catholic/Christian Pro is the daily half: audio devotionals, guided prayers you can follow start to finish, in-depth Bible studies and offline access. $49 once, lifetime access, 30-day money-back guarantee.

In a world full of war, climate anxiety, and depression, the Church wants to remind everyone that our hope is not in politics or technology, but in Jesus Christ.
The Jubilee of 2025 opened when Pope Francis unsealed the Holy Door of St Peter's on 24 December 2024, and it closed on 6 January 2026. Millions travelled to Rome to walk through the Door, and every diocese designated churches of its own so that pilgrims who could not travel could keep the Holy Year where they lived. The next ordinary Jubilee falls in 2050. What the Holy Year asked for is available in any year:
